The People Behind Optimum Safety

KI
Founder & Client Relations

Kali Irvin

CSP, CHST

With nearly a decade of experience in construction safety, Kali founded the company on a simple belief: your ability to communicate with every team member on the project — from the executives to the apprentices — is as critical as any knowledge of a safety standard. Drawing from a background in education, she brings a people-first approach to safety management, building relationships with clients and crews that make compliance feel less like a checklist and more like a culture of doing the right thing. Kali holds BCSP certifications alongside EM-385 and OSHA credentials, and leads with the conviction that the best safety outcomes start long before anyone sets foot on a jobsite.

Andrew Richards

Andrew is one of the rare safety professionals who earned his seat at the table by doing the work first. A U.S. military veteran, Andrew came into the safety field the hard way: through the field itself. He has worked across a full range of construction operations, building the kind of process knowledge that only comes from years of actually doing the work. He doesn't just know what the standards say — he understands why the hazards exist, how work actually flows on a site, and what it takes to keep crews safe without slowing the job down. That combination of field experience and practical thinking makes Andrew an asset. He's direct, dependable, and the kind of person that workers and project managers alike trust to give them a straight answer.

Ryan Adams

Ryan brings a perspective to safety that can only be earned from the ground up. After nearly a decade as a journeyman electrician, he transitioned into project management — a path that gave him an unusually complete picture of how construction operations actually run from both the field and the office. That dual lens shapes everything about how he approaches safety: he understands the work, the pressures, and the decisions crews face in real time. Now focused on safety management, Ryan handles the back-of-house operations at Optimum Safety, including integrating emerging technology and AI into how the business runs and how clients stay ahead of hazards before they become incidents. He is currently pursuing his BCSP certification. On the jobsite, Ryan is the kind of presence you might not notice right away — and that's exactly the point. His quiet, methodical approach lets him observe how work is actually progressing without disrupting it, and his eye for detail catches what others walk past.
